If you’re riding with SiFly, you’re already flying above the rest. But to stay there, it’s crucial to keep your eFoil firmware up to date.
We’ve just rolled out Firmware Version 2.4-296, and it’s packed with performance upgrades, safety improvements, and bug fixes that make a real difference. If you haven’t updated yet, now is the time.
📽️ How to Update Your Firmware
Updating your firmware takes just a few minutes, and we’ve made it easy.
Here’s how to update your eFoil to the latest firmware version.
First, assemble your eFoil.
Insert the battery, close the lid, and make sure your remote controller is paired with your board.
Now, open the SiFly App.
Find your eFoil in the Devices list. (consider re-recording this screen if needed)
Check if it’s activated.
If not, click the Activate Now button.
Next, go to Wi-Fi Configuration and connect your eFoil to Wi-Fi.
Make sure you see the green “Connected” status. (Wi-Fi connected screen)
After that, scroll down to Firmware Update.
When a new update is available, you’ll see a confirmation screen with update information.
Click Continue.
You’ll see two progress bars showing the download progress of the two files required for the complete update.
If your eFoil is not activated, you’re not logged into your account, or your eFoil is on an older firmware version (below 2.4),
you may not see that a new update is available immediately.
Keep your foil connected to Wi-Fi, wait a few minutes while it downloads the update files from the server,
and refresh the app until you see the update screen.
When the two files are downloaded, click Start Update Now.
You’ll see the updating progress – first the board, then the sensor hub, and finally the battery.
The process takes about two minutes, and you will hear the eFoil beeping during the update.
If you’re not logged in or using an older eFoil, your screen may look slightly different.
When the battery is successfully updated, the system will restart, and you will hear the start-up sound.
Your board and battery are now updated to the latest version.
Next, switch on your remote controller.
It will automatically start updating to the same firmware version as the eFoil.
You can follow the progress bar on the RC screen — it will restart when the process is finished.
Check the Info Screen in the RC menu to confirm the firmware version has been successfully installed.
Now, go back to the app, open the Device Info tab,
and make sure all devices show the same version.
If any device failed to update, repeat the corresponding step in the process.
Lastly, update your charger.
Plug it into power, open the SiFly App, add it, configure the Wi-Fi network, and update it to the latest version.
Then, check the Device Info screen again to confirm.
That’s it!
You now have the latest firmware version on your eFoil, remote, and charger.
